Preparing for the Christie Clinic 5K
As the Christie Clinic Illinois 5K draws nearer, information is being sent out everywhere and may be hard to compile. For Uni students and parents, here is everything you need to know to be prepared for the 5K– including a parking map!
The 5K will start at 7:30 PM, but it is highly recommended to be there at 7 PM. The starting line will be on Oak Street, south of St. Mary’s Road. The race will end in Memorial Stadium.
In order to run or participate in the race, you will need a race bib and a number. These, along with a unique t-shirt and bag, can be picked up at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) on 201 East Peabody Drive, Champaign. You will need to show your QR code in order to receive your items. QR codes were sent out through the email you signed up with. It is important that you do this during distribution hours. Items can be picked up on Thursday, April 26, from 4-8 PM, and Friday, April 27, 10 AM-7 PM. Someone else may pick up your items for you, as long as they show your QR code.
Finding parking during the 5K can be difficult. So, it’s recommended to be early. Luckily, there is parking throughout the starting area, and because the finish line is so close to the start, you can easily walk back to your vehicle.
