Thanksgiving food sale raises money for local food pantry

On Monday, Nov. 19, Food Pantry Club held a Thanksgiving food sale in the kitchen to raise money for the Wesley Food Pantry.

This is Food Pantry Club’s one fundraiser they do every year. They also package food for the same food pantry they donated the money to every other Friday.

The club currently donates and volunteers for Wesley Food Pantry on campus, but they’ve also given to Eastern Illinois Food Pantry in the past. One of the club’s leaders, Grace Sumitro, says the purpose of volunteering and donating locally is to help fight food insecurity in our own community.

To learn more about Food Pantry Club, go to one of their meetings held every other Monday during Uni period.
