Ruby Mitchell, a senior, realized she did not have her prox card with her while standing in front of the main entrance at Uni. Having no other choice, she buzzed in, telling the office staff she had forgotten her prox card, and was told to come to the office. There, she was met with a new, strange yellow sheet.
Starting this year, after buzzing in, students must go to the office and sign “The Prox Card Sheet of Shame.” Located on the desk ledge at the very front of the office, students must fill out the yellow sheet of paper before being able to leave. In addition to writing the date and their name on the yellow paper, they must write down the phrase, “I will remember next time.”
Yuan Bian, the office support associate, says the idea began in the summer. The office wanted to create the Prox Card Sheet of Shame in hopes that it would help students remember their prox cards.
When asked about what will happen with the names and data they collect, Yuan said they don’t plan to analyze or look for patterns in who is forgetting their prox cards.
This does not apply to teachers.
